My Current Skincare Routine | June 2015

I like to keep my skin healthy and as clean as possible. Throughout the years I have used many products whether it be to reduce spots, blemishes or to simply exfoliate my skin. Finally I have now found the right products to work with my skin type, which I have been told is simply 'normal'. I use all these products on a daily basis - day and night before I apply my makeup and to take it off.

In my skin care routine I only have 5 products, these include the Nivea Double Effect Eye Make-Up Remover, Pro Formula Tired Eyes Roll On, Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing Daily Scrub, Lush Eau Roma Toner Water and Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser. As you can tell none of these products are expensive and are easy to get down the high street so it's no trouble when they run out!

Cleanse. Tone. Moisturise.

These three steps are vital in my skincare routine, they really make my skin feel clean and refreshed. I use these in the morning after my shower and at night before bed.

Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing Daily Scrub - although I don't have a massive problem with blackheads this scrub definitely reduces them along with any other spots I get. I have tried many face washes from many different brands to try and get rid of spots but I always come back to this one. The special exfoliating micro-beads are said to 'peel away dead cells to unclog pores whilst the blackhead fighting ingredient penetrates the pores to help clear impurities and prevent blackheads from forming' I must say, I agree with everything it says. It's a very gentle scrub to use everyday and doesn't irritate my skin. I've been using this product for around 1-2 years and have repurchased it about six times (random but possibly accurate guess).

Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser - I first discovered this moisturiser in year 6 when I was shopping for makeup with my dad and the makeup counter assistant shoved this product into my hand telling me to always apply it before using any makeup on my face. Now I don't know whether that was just a con to make us buy the moisturiser but still to this day I always apply it before my makeup and I really like finish it gives, it is a great base for my makeup. Simple is wonderful for sensitive skin and contains many good vitamins including pro vitamin B5, vitamin E and ingredients such as borage seed oil and glycerin. I've probably re purchased this around... lets say 5 times in the past 3 years.

LUSH Eau Roma Water - this is the first Lush toner I have tried. I wanted to buy a toner that would be kind to my skin and I knew Lush was the place to go and look for one. After speaking to one of the Lush employees she guided me to this one and started listing all the benefits it would have on my skin. She told me that is would be ideal for everyday use and would hydrate and sooth the skin. This toner contains lavender water which was added due to its soothing and gentle properties on the skin. The toner water itself has a very relaxing, clean smell to it - probably due to the lavender ingredient it contains. The bottle sprays an ideal amount of the product out very well, to use it I spray it onto a cotton pad and wipe my face to remove any dirt. Since using this toner my skin has been very 'spot free' and hydrated.

Eye Care.

It is always important to look after your eyes, ensuring to take off your eye makeup each day is one step closer to achieving this!

Nivea Daily Essentials Double Effect Eye Make-Up Remover - I use this everyday to take off my mascara, eyeshadow, eyeliner and any other products I may have around my eyes. There are two parts to this product, an oily blue part which removes the eye makeup and a clear watery part which helps protect your eyes and care for your lashes. To use it you shake it up to mix the two together and apply onto a cotton pad. This product removes waterproof mascara too which is a massive bonus, it also contains cornflower extract which is a soothing property for the skin. It is suitable for all skin types and is gentle to the skin so I have never had a problem with it being harsh. I always use this product before my cleanser because it does leave my eyelids feeling oily.

Pro Formula Tired Eyes Roll On - my mum got me this the other week after hearing me constantly complain about the dark circles under my eyes which I can never fully conceal.. The product itself is a great idea, it is said to 'reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles' but whether it does that I am yet to fully find out. I do believe that it is minimizing the look of puffiness under the eyes but just at a very slow pace. I use it daily after moisturing morning and night. To apply you simple roll it under the eyes with the roller ball in circular motions. A full review on this product will be up soon!

For the summertime I also like to use my Evian Facial Spray to keep my skin hydrated and fresh throughout the day. I love spraying it on my face and receiving weird looks from people!

In order my skincare routine goes:

What's your favourite skincare product?

Keep smiling :)
